DJ K is originally from the favela of Diadema in Sao Paulo, Brazil. At 22 years old, this young producer is a crucial figure in the scene of new styles of baile funk called “Mandelão” and “Funk Bruxaria”. This aggressive sound, with a sharp and high-pitched “tuim” and high volume, energizes the favela block parties in São Paulo.

Griot dancefloor beats for heavy night clubbing in ancestral vibes. This show is their debut!

Sat 7 Sept > Rebel Up Records release party “Awakening Spirits” @ Aperodroom See U, Bxl

Join us for a Rebel Up Records saturday at APERODROOM SEE U from 2pm. Relaxing time around our guinguette & food trucks. Album release party of “Awakening Spirits” by Tropikal Camel.

Tropikal Camel (IS / Berlin Arabstazy)
Special guest is Tropikal Camel who will live present his new album “Awakening Spirits”, released just before summer on Brussels label Rebel Up Records. The new urban sound of Middle Eastern/North African futurism, an original fusion between traditional Arabic music with cutting edge electronic sounds. It is a quest for a new identity, one which has been released by colonialist thinking. One that has respect to the past but with heads up to the future, urban but tribal, dramatic but minimal, full of contradictions but keeping the balance. Electronic music that has a meaning and a story.

MAGA-BO-01_web

SubTropikal and Rebel Up! Soundclash join forces to bring you a one-off night of border crossing, dancefloor melting global sound.

We are excited to announce the return of global producer/DJ extraordinaire MAGA BO to Amsterdam and where better to host him than OCCII! Expect OCCII’s dancefloor to be transformed into a hot, booming, subtropikal cave. There will be great music, there will be dancing and there will be sweating – this is going to be a night not to be missed!

=========MAGA BO (BR)=========
Rio de Janeiro based Maga Bo has carved out his name in the “global bass” world (though we think he was making it before the term even existed!) for his futuristic mix of worldwide organic, traditional sounds with urban, bass ridden, sound system culture. His productions blend and blur global influences from dancehall, kuduro, cumbia, afro-brazilica and hip-hop into an infectious, club ready international sound. His latest album, the critically acclaimed ‘Quilombo do Futuro”, is a mind-blowing 21st century take on traditional Afro-Brazilian music, combining maculelê, coco, samba, jongo etc with hip-hop, dub, dancehall beats, ragga, kuduro and electronic bass.

Process Rebel has gained a reputation for his ability to traverse and unite the spectrum of global electronic music, seamlessly weaving together dub, dancehall, hip-hop, bass and the countless inversions of worldwide electronica.
