A โ€˜picoโ€™ is a typical Colombian soundsystem as can be found on the Caribbean coast, with itโ€™s huge width and fluorescent colors. El Magico Baobab hails from Netherlands, where they build a pico soundsystem according to the Colombian measurements and with a hand-painted screen design by the famous Colombian pico painter William Guitterez Peรฑaloza.

DJโ€™s and live groups will be playing on this pico soundsystem for a true Colombian tropical vibe โ€“ cumbia, baila cantaos, currulao, tambora, gaita, champeta, salsa and moreโ€ฆ.

This weekend, once again the amazing La Nature festival in the Ardennes hills!
And with Rebel Up we again curate the cosy La Dome stage, this time on Friday 21 June.

Rebel Up @ Kora Days clubbing night, Reset, Bxl

This Friday evening & night 26 april, with Rebel Up we curate a clubbing night in Reset for Kora Days, a festival by Bozar & Muziekpublique.

Starting with a live concert by kora master Ballake Sissoko & electronic composer Lorenzo Bianchi Hoesch. Also live electronic set by Malian-French duo Siraba, followed by DJ/percussion set by African duo Pili Piri Stylez and dj sets by SebCat & Drache Musicale.

this saturday Rebel Up organises their residence party at Brasserie Illegaal.

Itโ€™s time for another Globaal Illegaal party night @ Illegaal, springtime!
On this night we will take you into the Brussels underground, via guitar sounds, african vibes, afrohouse, breaks, bass and much more! Sounds from the global underground as always in the nice nightly home of Illegaal.

opening solo set with guitar, voice and lush tones.

Gajoy
she mixes afrobeat, house, hip hop, kuduro and dancehall reggae. She spent time at radio Tarmac doing shows and joined the collectives of Authentik vybz and Carbone 14.

Nika (Radio Vacarme)
she grabs the publicโ€™s attention through her impactful music selection, alternating between colourful and somber vibes so as to make the dancefloor jump and sweat.

Mambele (Bolingo)
The soul of Brussels and Bruzz/ Kiosk Radio resident. His DJ sets are pure romances on the dancefloor and can make anyone’s head melt. Nowadays he plays on everywhere in his beloved capital and keeps everyone’s hearts warm on colder days in the Brussels underground. His nightly sets range from African styles such batida, bass, afrohouse, afrotech, rave, Congolese rumba and more.

SPECIAL GUEST: Asna
DJ and producer from Abidjan, Ivory Coast, Asna defines herself as a โ€œsound explorerโ€. Her talents lie not just in DJing and production, but also in visual arts. Her universe is mainly influenced by traditional African rhythms which shape the continent’s current music. She does not hesitate to revisit the jerky rhythms of coupรฉ-dรฉcalรฉ, Congolese rumba or even the trance of percussion and traditional songs, all with drum infused bass, raw rhythms and some spicy electro for dancefloor bliss.

This friday is the birthday of JyVรฉ of Brasserie de la Mule brewpub.

Live concert with Brussels groove jazz band Azmari, warmup dj set by SebCat (whose birthday is a few days later, so good moment to celebrate already) and afterparty set by Bat Stan.

Rebel Up teams up with 54Kolaktiv and the 54 Sound for a night of Brussels bass dj’s, special guest Lua Preta and the 54 Soundsystem installed as a wall of heavy sound.
