The yearly Chouette festival invited Rebel Up to curate their afterparty at Illegaal, to turn it into a global clubbing night with eclectic sounds from allover.
with special guests Pulsar Collective from Berlin, who will play a live set with Turkish psychedelic music, oriental house, melodic house and vocals, with members from Turkey, Germany and Poland. Their 1st ever show in Bxl & Belgium!
and Brussels dj’s Djane D’arc, Rebel Up SebCat and Nika, who spin downtempo, global clubbing and bass sounds for a fiery dancefloor to warm your body….

This Friday 29 nov, a special concert night & afterparty @ Beursschouwburg!
Headliner of the night is Congolese band Kon’gongolo Kiniata from Kinshasa, masterful upcyclers who produce electro-Congolese rumba rock: a very own funky and punky flavour of experimental afro-pop, using an impressive arsenal of homemade percussion and string instruments from scrap metal. Their lyrics in Lingala pay homage to the working class, rebel against the war in Congo and advocate hope and perseverance for the youth of Kinshasa.
Before them, Brussels african group AKAR Collectif. A musical and visual collaboration between Shama Bongo (singer, producer & manager), Sarah Carlier (singer-songwriter, musician, music producer), Rokia Bamba (DJ, sound designer) and BenRichard (VJ, DJ, sound designer).
The evening is hosted by Rebel Up, SebCat will play warmup tunes & afterparty bangers together with Brussels based Italian-Congolese dj Laryssa Kim.

𝑴𝒐𝒐𝒏 𝒀𝒆́ (𝑳𝒂 𝑹𝒆𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒐𝒏 / 𝑩𝒙𝒍) DJ, film maker, ex athlete and pure music lover, Moon Yé landed in Bxl a few months ago to make here his new home. His roots are from La Reunion island in the Indian ocean, and this can be heard in his dj sets, where blends of maloya, kabar, sega, malagasy, indian styles, afrohouse and electronic music are played together in a forward organic sound that is deeply linked to his home region. He experiments and transforms the traditional elements of Maloya by merging them with hip-hop and electro sounds, creating his trademark, which he calls M’Bass. His music seamlessly blends traditional south-global rhythms with Latinxclub sounds, showcased through his distinctive performances an sets. Notably, his recent debut album “MIGRX,” (November 2023) on international bass label MATRACA, where he merges the digital with the organic. He has further released EP’s and tracks on labels such as New Latam Beats and Eck Echo. 𝑶𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒕𝒂 𝑪𝒉𝒓𝒆𝒎 (𝑷𝒆𝒓𝒖 / 𝑳𝒊𝒎𝒂) Orieta Chrem is a DJ, sound engineer, and music producer from Lima, Peru with over 20 years of experience. She is a key figure in the Peruvian electronic music scene and has created various platforms throughout her career showcasing Peruvian and Latin American talent in various cultural spaces in her hometown. As a promoter and founder of “LA RARA” radio, she has invited acts from all over Latin America and beyond, focusing on creating spaces for underrepresented artists and fomenting the growth of the electronic music scene in Lima. In 2014 Orieta founded QMULUS SOUND, the first female-run sound studio in Lima. For 10 years, she works on various projects related to sound design, recording, mixing and mastering. She has recorded music for Los Ballumbrosio, one of the most emblematic groups of Afro-Peruvian music and had international visitors such as Dj Spinn, Robert Henke, Mad Professor, Branko, Matias Aguayo, Thomas Von Party, Channel One, Macky Banton among others. Orieta also constructed and is a co-founder of BQESTIA Soundsystem, a professional soundsystem created with other sound system enthusiasts from Lima. Her diverse taste in electronic genres, such as global bass, funk brasileiro, reggaeton, dembow, footwork, kuduro, ambient, latinxclub and techno, is evident in her work as a DJ, music curator and her own productions, which often feature unique uses of vibrations and the human voice.
