This thursday 20 march we organise a special Rebel Up Records label evening at the Ancienne Belgique club room in Bxl centre!

With 2 concerts, by Brazilian group Satanique Samba Trio to celebrate their new release on 21.03 on the start of their European tour, and a warmup show by Brussels duo Trance Plantations. DJ support by SebCat & Drache MuMu.

Satanique Samba Trio is an instrumental avant-garde quintet (yep, not really a trio), founded in 2003 with the sole purpose to be an idiosyncratic force on the Brazilian musical landscape. No Brazilian traditional rhythm remains unscathed on Satanique Samba Trio’s trail of desecration. From samba to forró, from bossa nova to lambada and carimbó, this Brasília-based quintet (sometimes sextet) has been adding virulence, dissonance and provocation to Brazil’s musical heritage. Their efforts on deconstructing Brazilian music’s most persistent clichés have resulted in 15 records so far. After a (post-)covid hiatus, they finally hit Europe again to promote their upcoming 7-inch vinyl .‘Cursed Brazilian Beats Vol. 1’, to be released on the Brussels label Rebel Up! Records. The 7inch will be available at the show!

And afterwards we do a Rebel Up x ECHT! afterparty @ Bonnefooi bar, as ECHT! also plays their new album release concert in the big room of the Ancienne Belgique. Expect a full lineup with underground electronic & global sounds by SebCat, Papelón Kifesh, Moon Yé and DJ Erd.

For this special edition, the collectives 𝐑𝐞𝐛𝐞𝐥 𝐔𝐩 and 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭 join forces for an epic night to warm our hearts in the middle of the winter.

an opening B2B vinyl set between His Dudeness & SebCat, followed by a live performance by Spanish-Iranian duo Floèmee who bring ambiental, IDM electronica & breaks with vocals of Persian ghazal poetry. Rrita Jashari will bring global, oriental & bass sounds, followed by &RY (Echte Ra) and his deep house & afrohouse sound. His Dudeness & SebCat will close the night with eclectic global club sounds…

Thursday 16.02, expo opening / Jeudi baar at Brasserie Illegaal brewery, curated by Rebel Up, with live concerts by duo Bonzaiology (musicien de Phoenician Drive), duo Jean-Sebastien, and duo dj set/live by DJ Fresh Nunas & renowned trumpet player Aquiles Navarro (Panama/New York / International Anthem / River Down records) and SebCat.
Expo by Leonie Stolberg & Esteban Moulin.

Expect all sounds between jazz, rock, afro, latin and electronica, hybrid & eclectic.

This weekend > Friday – Saturday – Sunday, Rebel Up & Friends will spin tunes at Pukkelpop Festival at the Food Wood area (next to Castello stage) from 12h until 22h.

with SebCat, Didi of Tropical DJipsies, Don Plok, Rafael Aragon, Motacilla, Purple Samba, Mambele and Susobrino

We will play global sunshine sounds while you munch on your breakfast/lunch/dinner from the foodtrucks, and perhaps can even make those dance who are more brave. See you there?
