On Tuesday 20 june, Rebel Up SebCat will play dj support together with Deejay Backstabber at the concert of the band Studio Shap Shap (all the way from Niger) at Cafee Cabron in Antwerpen.
Come and have a taste of contemporary music from Niger via Studio Shap Shap, between traditional griot sounds up to electronics. Check some of their sounds here.
on Thursday 22 june for Fete de La Musique in Brasserie de la Mule brewpub in Schaarbeek, Rebel Up SebCat plays a warmup dj set for the concert of KermesZ a l’Est.
KermesZ a l’Est are a wild bunch of anarchic musicians formed as a rough fanfare. They play punkrock and jazz mixed with uptempo balkan tones. Fire! Afterparty by DJ Calima.

On the same evening, Rebel Up SebCat will play afterparty set for Phoenician DriveEP launch at Brasserie Illegaal in Forest. Organised by their label Exag Records and also with support by Swiss groups Orchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp (Bongo Joe records) and Typhon.
Expect a blend of oriental sounds, flamenco guitar, arabic scales, postrock, drones, free jazz and more!
and on Saturday 24 june our big juicy cherry on your cake > La Nature festival! Since a few editions Rebel Up curates & programmes La Dome stage at this amazing and cosy alternative festival on the slopes of Baraque de Fraiture.
“La Nature” is an intimate festival, nestled in the heart of nature, exploiting a magnificent forest of the Belgian Ardenne and presenting a unique and multidisciplinary programme of arts, projects, body & soul workshops and a musical line-up, with a special place for live performances.
Such an amazing programme with many (inter)national artists & DJ’s.

Nightshop April is online now, with songs by Emahoy Tsege Mariam Gebru who passed away end of march and a zouk tune from Guadeloupe.
We have 12! albums of the month, starting with spritual jazz by Syrian-French artist Naïssam Jalal, followed by Brussels group schroothoop and their special junk jazz sound, French-Malian duo Clement Janinet & Adama Sidibé with spiritual strings, Belgian band Gaïsha with psychedelic rock & grooves sung in Arabic. Entoto Band by musicians from Ethiopia and Eritrea bring Ethio funk classics, David Walters explores afro disco & funk and Belgian band Bernard Orchestar brings electro balkan brass in oriental bass. To end the show, Jamaican producer Gavsborg and his deep post-dancehall, DJ Kapwanthi from Malawi and his hyper beats, Ozferti brings his electronic afro club sound, Brussels producer Le Motel w/ Nigerian rapper Magugu and Swordman Kitala & Tim Karbon bring afro bass fire. Our Nightshop show for March, with songs of the day from Buenos Aires via UK, Tunisia & Italy and a Belgian-Bolivian tune produced in Colombia.
We have 10 albums of the month, starting with a spritual & jazz album from Guadeloupe by Polobi, followed by the international Belgian group Jiraan Ensemble and their instrumental eastern Mediterranean sound, Somalian band Iftin Group and their 80’s funk sound and the debut of the mixed trad punky Geneva band Yalla Miku. More electronic album via Turkish French group Biensüre and their oriental synths, Tunisian artist Ghoula with his electro maghreb album, the compilation ACIL Urgent Solidarity Music to raise funds for victims of the earthquake via 54 songs, the Ugandan experimental album by Rian Treanor & Ocen James and ending with Egyptian electro chaabi artist 3Phaz and his experimental bass.

Our albums of the month are by experimental jazz trio Bog Bodies, Egyptian singer Maha and her 1979 arabic funk album, Israeli band Sababa 5 and their psychedelic exotica, Turkish singer Gaye Su Akyol and her psychedelic folkrock and Nigerian band Oriental Brothers International Band and their Igbo highlife music. Continuing with Electric Vocuhila and their Malagasy tsapiky sound, Mexican electro cumbia meets classical keys by Memo Pimiento, Algerian disco raï singles from the Maghreb K7 Club, Sarera & Blanc Manioc and their Mayotte island bass, Insula and their La Reunion maloya deep bass and finishing with RS Produçoes from Lisboa and their batida bass.
