We hope you doing fine during this ‘deconfinement’ stage, slowly getting back to normal life. Artists worldwide are still in serious limbo, with no concerts, parties and festivals happening this summer up to september, meaning many of them will continue to have no income from their art for the next few months.
Today Bandcamp again waives their commission fee in support of artists and label, which they will do every 1st friday of the month during this crisis and the summer.
If you would like to support our label and artists, please see our catalogue. We have lowered prices on many digital and physical items, check it out!
we hope you are doing fine and taking care of yourself and your loved ones.

Listen here and here.
SPIRITCZUALIC ENHANCEMENT CENTER (Akuphone) Giving birth via impromptu instrumentals to glimpses of synchronistic magic, these Spiritczualics remain agnostic: are they magicians, or merely charlatans? Spiritczualic Enhancement Center is an outernational movement. A traveling nexus collecting dozens of participants to explore alchemical realms of sonic ritualism. Fusing DIY electronics with experimental improvisation and traditional instruments, recurring collaborators have studied under masters of Andalusian music, ethno-music research as well as important underground venues in Berlin and Hamburg’s musical scenes. Visual artist Dima Rabik contributes his miniature ink drawing style to all Spiritczualic releases – as well as a live-drawing projection during performances.
Spiritczualic (“cz” borrowed from the Polish / tʂ / hard “tch”) – a word-melange of “ritczualic” and spiritual, reflects upon the ancient practice of musical ritualism. As an idea, it greatly predates the physical occurrence of the Enhancement Center – on Christmas 2017, when an Ottoman building below the Gates of Jerusalem provided itself for a remarkable meeting. The trespassing people who happened to be there – admittingly bizarre participants synchronized by state-of-mind rather than tune or scale – began exploring sonic sessions of do-it-yourself mysticism. Witnesses of its ritualistic gatherings have indeed reported moments of divination – and possibly sorcery. This raises the question, will the audience once again behold the allurement of Higher Sources – or rather testify to trickery.“ Listen here and here.
Rebel Up DJ’s Before, inbetween & after, DJ’s Duckfood & Spliff will take you on a trip through the global underground
Nikanor – Bajo El Sol (RUP015) releases 15 january on vinyl, CD & digital Chicha cumbia, cumbia Amazonica and psychedelic rock from Peru via Brussels.
Nikanor is a Peruvian band based in Brussels, fronted by vocalist Marx Sánchez Sosa and guitarist Angel Loaiza. Together they play Chicha cumbia, a unique genre based on Andean melodies blended with tropical percussion and psychedelic rock.
The first Chicha cumbia bands appeared in Peru during the mid-1960’s and was very popular until the mid-1980’s. In recent years, ‘la Chicha’ is experiencing a renaissance, with bands and audiences from around the world (re)discovering its power and sound. Taking the big names and bands from the Chicha cumbia era as a reference, Nikanor started in 2016 as a cover band, to play the most remarkable and strongest songs to gain recognition in the Belgian scene. Since then the band has evolved into a group that writes their own music and songs.
Nikanor’s songs are a mix of rock, Chicha cumbia, tropical cumbia and Andean folk. Songs like ‘La Bajada del Kuraka’, with its Afro-Peruvian rhythms, or ‘Cóndor Blanco’, with its Quenas (Andean panpipes), make this album a trip in sound into Peru. Listening to the songs you feel like flying through landscapes and rhythms from all around the country. All of this in a rock structured format that invites to dancing and partying in a live setting.
Nikanor & Rebel Up Records will present the album with a little tour in Belgium on friday 17 & sunday 19 january, with dj support & afterparty by Rebel Up & friends.
