Rebel Up! in Germany this saturday! 🙂
We’ll be playing Domicil club in Dortmund at the WDR Cosmo Global Player party together with our Moroccan grandmaster dj friend Ali T. Global sounds & beats to make your feet go wild 🙂

Domicil is famous a one of Germany’s prime jazz club and has an amazing sound system, a dream for every music loving DJ & listener 🙂

Global Player, the Funkhaus Europa (now Cosmo) club night, is already since 10 years a wild global party in the Dortmunder nightlife. Both resident-DJs Ali T and Kosta Kostov play the best selections from the Balkan, Oriental, Latino and Afro for a true worldtripping feel & vibe. Rebel Up! joins in the fun, see you there! From a techno kick to a melodic clarinet, Alizarina mixes different influences: Techno, Klezmer, Gypsy and Balkan beats… Fruit of travels and a strongly developed curiosity, his music will take you on a modern trip through his special Ethno-Techno Tzigane sound. Just a few months ago, he released his debut album ‘Melodic Blossoms’ on Global Hybrid, an album that sublimely bridges tradition with the modern.

One of the originators of Global Hybrid crew that host many amazingly wild parties in Brussels and part of the Fanfara Electronica. Rafael Aragon
Birthday boy Rafael also joins us! His obsessive curiosity has him digging through everything from latin beats to oriental melodies, unearthing unique samples that he (re)mixes, twists and polishes with a watchmaker’s precision. Rafael’s music is demanding but light-hearted, intelligent but down to earth, and overcomes musical language barriers with its lack of stylistic limitations.

We invited some special guests for a true Mediterranean flavour.

Rebel Up! SebCat will be accompanied by Israelian dj/producer Gal Kadan, who is specialised in music from the Levant (Libanon, Israel, Palestine, Syria & Jordan) and also by Spanish Brussels DJ’s El Gato Callejero and I Am Sardina, who will spin Iberian sounds from rumba Catalana to flamenco & mestizo + live percussion.

Expect a wild mix with dance music from the Mediterranean and the Levant > Latino Euro-Arab-Andalus connection!

We’re happy to announce that we are playing Esperanzah! festival this year!

We’ll be playing on Friday 5 Aug, closing the Scene Découverte, where all the local Belgian artists & DJ’s perform. Lots of good artists this year > our personal favorites this year are Ana Tijoux, A-WA, & Calypso Rose. Other artists like Emir Kusturica, Lee Scratch Perry and Manu Chao will surely not disappoint either.

There’s a new festival in Maastricht happening this weekend, 3 days of music in an old fort on top of a hill overlooking the city! Secret Places!

This friday evening, Rebel Up! will be spinning global tunes inbetween the bands and a dance set at the afterparty in the old Sint Pieter fort.

This friday, an exciting evening in La Tentation organised by the Brussels collective El Pulpo, filled with klezmer music, fanfares and balkan folk & beats! Walking dinner, 2 Live bands followed by a wild balkan afterparty.

Amsterdam Klezmer Band (NL/RU)
This notorious klezmer band celebrates their 20th anniversary and will play their new album “Oy Oy Oy”. From street musicians with a Jiddish repetoire, they have evolved into an international band who has made a solid name through their energetic live shows. They mix klezmer with other contemporary folk and pop/rock influences as a balance between tradition and pure dance music. It’s party wherever they play!

La Nouvelle Flibuste (Bxl)
A warm up set on the floor by this 20-(wo)men fanfare, a true big band of jazz and trance music from different corners of the world, from the Caribbean to the Balkans! Human energy combined with blowers and snared instruments. Better be ready!
Balkan afterparty!
from midnight, the party will continue with Balkan folk & beats into every direction. with special guest Kosta Kostov (BG), one of the leading dj’s of the Balkan movement, also Rebel Up! and Fanfara Electronica on the decks.

Come early > Walking dinner by Dum Tek Veg, with delicious homecooked vegetarian dishes & snacks from the Levant. Falafels, houmous, salads and much more at very fair prices!
