Tune in to radio show Rebel Up Nightshop on Radio Campus Bxl & Radio Groovalizacion. Select global, play local!

Alizarina *LIVE*
From a techno kick to a melodic clarinet, Alizarina mixes different influences: Techno, Klezmer, Gypsy and Balkan beats… Fruit of travels and a strongly developed curiosity, his music will take you on a modern trip through his special Ethno-Techno Tzigane sound. Just a few months ago, he released his debut album ‘Melodic Blossoms’ on Global Hybrid, an album that sublimely bridges tradition with the modern.

TOHM (Fanfara Electronica)
One of the originators of Global Hybrid crew that host many amazingly wild parties in Brussels and part of the Fanfara Electronica. Rafael Aragon
Birthday boy Rafael also joins us! His obsessive curiosity has him digging through everything from latin beats to oriental melodies, unearthing unique samples that he (re)mixes, twists and polishes with a watchmaker’s precision. Rafael’s music is demanding but light-hearted, intelligent but down to earth, and overcomes musical language barriers with its lack of stylistic limitations.

Fri 19 Apr; Rebel Up! dj’s @ Balkan Trafik festival, Brussels

hey all,

Fun last minute flash;
On Friday evening we are unexpectedly playing at the Balkan Trafik festival in Bozar. We’ll be dj-ing our special old 1920’s-1950’s Rembetiko vinyls in the open Vino Zirkus area -where all the fine balkan wines can be tasted- in different time slots of 30 mins each (from 19.00-19.30/ 0:00-0:30/2:00-2:30). But also we’ll spin some rembetika during one or two moments during the performances of Greek dance group Fanouris Trikilis Band, to see some true rembetika dancing. Besides Rembetiko, for sure expect some Zeibekiko, Smirneika, Mortika, Demotika sounds in our set too…

Enough good stuff to see on Friday, check the programme; Rembetiko café, Guta Family, Fanfare Ciocarlia, Aka Balkan Moon, Klezmic Zirkus, Martin Lubenov, Thoma Loli & Aleks Micka and much more….
