Oyé! *CUMBIA DANCEHALL Fiesta* @ Bouillon Kube
a night of cumbia & dancehall flowing together in one strong Afrolatino sound, connecting the Caribbean isles to the Latin continent without borders.

The Bouillon Kube is an old Galician restaurant which in olden days was also used as a resting place by pilgrims who travelled the Camino de Santiago. Now it has been turned into a global cultural spot for the St Gilles neighbourbood, where the focus is put on southern music, arts, poetry and film. They operate as a non-profit place where prices are fair, with drinks are much cheaper than elsewhere in town and so we make it a cheap night for all!

Silver Canary crew + MC´s > straight up roots
The Silver Canary is a Brussel based Soundsystem consisting of a international crew of dj´s and singers who organise roots nights in Matongé and other venues allover the city. The Canary brings you a deadly cocktail of underground Caribbean-Jamaican music to quench you thirst to dance. Everything from rocksteady up to raggamuffin!

Since 2010, the Rebel Up! crew organises not-for-profit Soundclash parties in Brussels as fundraisers for small NGO´s. These rebels dive into many different local music styles from all around the world, whether it be ethnic, urban or a fusion of folk, pop and contemporary electronic dance music. On this night the sound will be all things uptempo Caribbean & streetstyle latino bass.

our international guest Chico Parany from Córdoba, Argentina is a dj, selektor, remixer and investigator of folkloric rhythms and alternative, rebel and mestiza music from around the world. A trip of sounds that synthetize a rhythmic encounter between South America and Eastern Europe, blending gypsy with cumbia, Latin bases with Arabic melodies, Balkan-Beats, Tarantella, Punk, “Paso Doble”, … a revolution of senses, in search of a revolutionary and universal sound. During May until August he is based in Brussels and doing his “LA TRAMPA – EUROPE TOUR 2013”

Saturday afternoon, we’ll be spinning various soft n folky global sounds in Molenbeek as part of the local Wijkfeest/Fete du Quartier in (Parc) Bonneviepark, with lots of animation and activities for children. It runs from 13:00 – 18:00 and it’s free in for young and old.

hello folks,

This saturday an amazing night coming up @ OCCII, Amsterdam, time to soundclash again.

Noord-Holland fanfare-punk-folk band De Kift will be our very special guests as they are currently doing their *25 years jubileumtour* and this will be their 2nd jubilee show in OCCII where they again will play 2 full albums; Vlaskoorts (1999) en Koper (2001) both excellent albums for the connaisseurs and they will be aided on stage by G.W. Sok (ex The Ex).

Sadly the concert of De Kift is already sold out (yes, those 275 places went very quick), but you can always come in afterwards for the afterparty around 23:30. see fb event here.

We’ll take care of a nice warm-up together with our touring amigo DJ Pinchado from la Boca, Buenos Aires before the band will kick off their (at least) 2 hour long set!
Afterwards we’ll start the after party with Rebel Up! dj’s & TP OK for those who need their healthy dose of alternative global dancing, with folk tunes spiced with latin, african, asian and arabic sounds 🙂

Rebel Up! time again in Brussels this thursday night 20 december, just before the holiday season kicks off.
Christmas time brings out one’s most charitable side and so Bonnefooi will organise a fundraiser for a project in Brussels to host homeless people.The project called “Leeggoed” creates an alternative for people with housing problems in a city where the housing crises strikes ruthlessly. The money of the fundraiser will be used to create a space where a diverse group of homeless people can be sheltered temporarily, a space from where they can create a more stable and certain future. Hi Up there,

Rebel Up! is back in Den Haag for the second time and eager to bring some musical presents in your ears for a pre-Sinterklaas party this Saturday 1st of December at café De Vinger!

Our 3 DJ’s Dubcovsky, SebCat and Palm M are ready to make you dance in a time and space travel through Old Skool Afro-Carribean genres up to the most delirious mashups and creations from nowadays. You shall jump oceans and centuries and still be up on your feet to witness the pleasure of what a good buddies party means. Expect music from Congo, Senegal, Ethiopia, Kenya, Ghana, South Africa, Argentina, Brazil and if I keep going, you might start to get dizzy. Anyway music speaks louder than words, so come early to enjoy yourself cause last time got packed before midnight with a great crowd who could not leave the dancefloor. And for that, we are thankful as well as for you spreading the good word for a good cause.

Indeed, this time is also special because we will work hand to hand with a local association called Watoto Wa Baraka which means children of blessings in Swahili. They have founded two orphanages in Kenya and are now trying to build a school in a rural area. You could find more info over them and their other projects via www.africanorphanage.org. Just know that the entrance benefits will go to them and that if you’re willing to give more, you are welcome.
