we are back for a small week and playing in Brussels the next few days.on thursday 23/08, we will start with a Rebel Up & Friends livestream session at Kiosk Radio, and followed in the night with a party in Bonnefooi.
We will play from 17:00 to 19:00 @ Kiosk Radio in Parc de Bruxelles, with special guest Rebel Up Duckfood all the way from Rotterdam. Come hang and dance at the Kiosk bar or tune in on the livestream via Kiosk Radio or Rebel Up FB page.
And from 23:00 onwards, we will spin all night at the Bonnefooi, Rebel Up dj crew SebCat & Duckfood and special guest DJ Pinchado (La Boca, Buenos Aires, ARG). Global sounds from all corners of the world, from vintage to tropical to underground.

This saturday a special night at La Tentation Bxl as organised by El Pulpo, a new international Brussels collective with Belgians, Italians, Spanish and Venezuelans. Also Rebel Up! has become part of El Pulpo for these global concert & partynights.
Special band of the night is Onda Vaga from Buenos Aires, Argentina!!!
One of Buenos Aires finest bands is coming back to Europe. The best thing about it: they will be in Brussels for their only show in Belgium.
Their sound is a heavy flurry of styles, flirting with cumbia, reggae, rumba, mestizo rock and even some tango. Check their Take Away video’s made by Vincent Moon a few years ago >

Also our favorite Italian Brussels band Riso Patate ‘n Folk will kick off the night with a mediterranean gypsy jazz and Italian folk set.
After the wild Onda Vaga show, the party will kick off further deep into night with Groovalizacion Radio dj´s Pedrolito (AR / Paris) & your local Rebel Up! SebCat.

One of the foremost exponents of Argentina’s digital cumbia scene, Pedro Canale aka Chancha Via Circuito has released 2 albums on Buenos Aires’ famed ZZK label and just released his 3rd album Amanasara on Brussels label Crammed Discs. Their blend of Argentinian folklore, Paraguayan harp and Andean mysticism, all processed through Pedro Canale’s own futuristic strain of electronic music, has garnered great reactions: the albums were hailed by Pitchfork and the New York Times, among others, and Chancha was enlisted for remix work by Gilles Peterson and Gotan Project. Muevelo! (Grandpamini & Pedrolito)
This Chilean/ Argentinian duo runs the famous Parisian Muevelo parties and are the top of the cream of new latino bass sounds from the americas. Some years ago Grandpamini already made Brussels sweat at a Nightshop party in the Recyclart and we’re happy to invite him again to play his own fun edits of reggaeton beats and tropical bass. mas perreo, mas perreo! Pedrolito is his sidekick at Muevelo and runs a saboroso radio show for Groovalizacion radio. Rebel Up! has teamed up with the Lowup crew to organize a Brussels show for the Frikstailers 2014 European tour at Salle Rogier.
We kick off early at 18:00 with BBQ (veg + meat) and cold drinks on the terrace out front and showing the world cup quarter final between Belgium – Argentina, just the perfect game for our Belgian-Argentinian party!!!
At 23:00 we move inside for a concert by the “indisputable galactic emperors of tropical futurism” followed by a steaming global bass party with all the local heroes. Have a peek at our FACEBOOK event for details and more music.
The rhythms and textures of traditional Latin American music infused with hip hop and dancehall beats, dramatic synth leads and krauty electro noodlings: Argentinian duo the Frikstailers boldly go where no band has gone before and they do it with verve and gusto.
With one album, two ep’s and some sizzling hot remixes to their name this Mexico City based duo have established themselves as a first class electronic live act at festivals on both sides of the Atlantic and are now bathing in the favourable attention of reputable institutions such as XLR8R, The Fader, Boiler Room and Modeselektor.
The dj’s of the Rebel Up! & Lowup crew will surround their live set with cumbia bass, dancehall, urban electronic and many other spicy tropical dance styles.

This saturday an amazing night coming up @ OCCII, Amsterdam, time to soundclash again.
Noord-Holland fanfare-punk-folk band De Kift will be our very special guests as they are currently doing their *25 years jubileumtour* and this will be their 2nd jubilee show in OCCII where they again will play 2 full albums; Vlaskoorts (1999) en Koper (2001) both excellent albums for the connaisseurs and they will be aided on stage by G.W. Sok(ex The Ex).

We’ll take care of a nice warm-up together with our touring amigo DJ Pinchado from la Boca, Buenos Aires before the band will kick off their (at least) 2 hour long set!
Afterwards we’ll start the after party with Rebel Up! dj’s & TP OK for those who need their healthy dose of alternative global dancing, with folk tunes spiced with latin, african, asian and arabic sounds 🙂
