Sadly, this is our LAST EVER party night at De Vinger, as it soon will be closed and demolished, what a shame š
We will be joined by our new Rebel Up! member DJ DUCKFOOD who will Heat Up the dancefloor for you to freely run, jive, and just dance for the hell of it. As usual, expect a fine Rebel Up! mix of old and gritty tunes with newer weirder than ever music from all around the globe: Calypso, Soukouss, Cumbia, Desert tunes and other genres in the making.
The entrance fee should be 3ā¬ but it can also be more if you feel like helping out this bar De Vinger which as always intended to be just an open stage for young and less young local and international artists. Just providing what has become a rarity in Den Haag : a venue for alternative music.
Back in business for this new year full of promises. At least this next Saturday we’ll make sure you’ll be grooving at Cafe De Vinger. Hot music are welcome in these times and Christmas has been kind on new sound collecting. Get ready for mashing tunes from all around the world. This time the benefit will go to activity project for Brazilian street kids.
SebCat & Palm M will be happy to see you there, with colourful sounds & visuals. FB event here >

During the next 3 months, a sports project for children and adolescents in one of the Sao Paulo favelaās will be organised. The aim is to stimulate social skills, values like team spirit, playing together and fairplay so that the youths can make positive decisions in their future life, but the main goal simply is to just have fun and enjoy themselves. Sports that will feature are football, volleyball & circus techniques and some other activities. Also friendly tournaments will be organised for the children as an end goal to all their sports training and with an incentive for them to invite their family into their playing environment as part of the social process. For this project, they need to raise money to buy sports equipment (balls, nets, clothing etc) and to cover other costs. www.tiaozinho.org.br

yeah, it’s no hoax or joke; Rebel Up! is divided in three equal parts to go and play at 3 parties on the same night, at the same time!
This never happened before, so it’s a funny fact to remember.Ā so hope you can choose the party closest and to your liking š
first up, our special fundraiser night @ de Vinger in Den Haag, where we will have the mighty awesome Orchestre du Mont-Plaistant (FR/UK) playing their global funk and jazz psychedelica. The night will be hosted by Rebel Up! Palm M who will bring on his best heat š
You’ll get to jive on this four-guy combo from London. They bring back a bit of soundtrack psychedelia from the 60’s and 70’s, with them you’ll also get into some nifty African and Latino sounds. Rebel Up! DJs will wrap it all up to let you bounce some more.
Benefits at the entrance will go for a great cause, the Stahili Foundation, fighting to give a normal life for Kenyan orphans. So every extra cent is worth it.

Expect a good dose of cumbia, tribal, electro afro beats, kwaito house, turkish folk, maroccan chaabi and chaoui, global bass, trap and much more!Ā The line up further includes a good flurry of dj’s;Ā Thom ā DJ-set (Alt-J) , TLP, Latomski and Biggy & Smalls.
and finally, also at the same moment but in Greenwich mean time; Rebel Up! SebCat will be spinning global sounds @ the Canteen in Bristol during the Wormex night. Main band of the night is Bengali-Cuban-British afrolatindian outfit Lokkhi Terra, hosted by Wormfood. Our busy man SebCat will replace Kosta Kostov who could not make it and will do his best to replace him well.
It’s free in, so lucky you if you are in Bristol!
We’re back from Russia where we had incredible gigs in St Petersburg and Moscow along with The Ex, De Kift and Skip and Die. Plenty of memories and slight hangover but Den Haag hasn’t heard from us for too long and that’s why we’re ready to let Cafe De Vinger tremble again from the various vibes we’re aiming at you. For those who like vintage Afro and Latino sounds come early to show your best moves, the ones who like rougher bassy beats will be delighted to hear DJ Mataklap is coming to deliver his long time experienced mixes, it can be New Wave Cumbia, Moombah as well as Reggada or Shangaan… If you don’t know what that means, come and find out for yourself, your heartbeats will do the rest.
Special guest of the night is Agga resident Mataklap (ex-Bomb Diggy), who since this year rides other global soundwaves to surely to make folks shake. Rebel Up! residents Palm M and SebCat will take up the flame to keep the night burning with swinging global styles.
As always your entrance fee shall go towards a good cause. Profits of the night will go to an orphanage project in Indonesia. This summer, Mataklap spent some time helping out at the Saewa Dharma Children’s Home in Pakisan, Bali. This home takes care of children whose parents are unable to do so. This is mostly due to poverty. Apart from providing these children a home and food, Saewa Dharma focuses on building spiritual strength, an appreciation of morality and education. The children all go to school when they’re old enough, and at the home itself they receive additional lessons in Yoga and English language. They are also frequently exposed to foreign cultures by volunteers from overseas. The home itself maintains an intimate atmosphere, with three volunteers who care for the children round the clock. They rely completely on donations, mostly from the immediate community itself, as well as various donations from different sources.

Our selection has grown wilder and once again with all types of mashups between Soca, Soukous, Cumbia, global rough bass, the groove of old skool and new skool Afro-Funk, Desert blues, festive Chaabi, mad Indian drum n bass and a bit of spicy Balkan beat here and there.
As usual the enjoyment is also based on the fact that your feet won’t be moving for no reason, the benefits of the night will go this time to Women’s Initiative for Gender Justice, a NGO struggling for the changes of mentality and mainly for the governments leaving consciously open sexual crimes unpunished. If you won’t to know more about this organization, you can go to www.iccwomen.org or on their twitter account @4GenderJustice.
We hope to see you there to share some real fun times together.

It will groove for sure with Up and Down tempo from Africa, mashing guitars from Sahara, Brass bands from around the Mediterranean coasts and many rhythms from Brazil, Argentina y Columbia and the Caribbean. We’ll go crescendo to let you go in trance into heavy bass lines towards the end of our show.

You shall jump oceans and centuries and still be up on your feet to witness the pleasure of what a good buddies party means. Expect music from Congo, Senegal, Ethiopia, Kenya, Ghana, South Africa, Argentina, Brazil and if I keep going, you might start to get dizzy. Anyway music speaks louder than words, so come early to enjoy yourself cause last time got packed before midnight with a great crowd who could not leave the dancefloor. And for that, we are thankful as well as for you spreading the good word for a good cause.
Indeed, this time is also special because we will work hand to hand with a local association called Watoto Wa Baraka which means children of blessings in Swahili. They have founded two orphanages in Kenya and are now trying to build a school in a rural area. You could find more info over them and their other projects via www.africanorphanage.org.
