The temperature in the city is rising so we also are heating up our Thursday nights, inviting some real hot acts from Ghana!

It’s Hemelvaart/Ascension, so hope you’re having a bridge weekend for another fine late night out 🙂

Rebel Up! dj’s will open the night around 22:00, followed by a live set of King Ayisoba around 23h/midnight, one of the leading kologo lute players when it comes to reinventing Northern Ghana’s traditional music. Distinctly original but keeping a more roots and universal approach to his music which gives it the power to touch both young and old. Deep and beautiful. He will be accompagnied by 2 Ghanese brass players from a highlife band and perhaps a talking drum too!

For those of you around the South of la belle France; for the first time some Rebel Up! sounds will come your way down south in Toulouse!

Rebel Up! Sebcat has been invited by the Guachafita & Ikebana folks of Tropicalia Grooves, one of the best party nights during the Latin Film Festival in Toulouse. It will be on a boat/peniche called Le Cri De La Mouette.

It promises be a super sweet night of special sound, all the way c-a-l-i-e-n-t-e chicos n chicas!

This Friday, another fun tropical dance night in Rotterdam in the grand squatted Poortgebouw harbour building on the Maas river, an amazing place really!

DJ’s of the night will be DJ Pinchado (AR) *straight outta La Boca!*, Saxixa and Rebel Up! Sebcat. Expect all sounds bouncy and tropical, from vintage chicha & cumbia to more digital and contemporary urban dance spheres. It’s cheap in too, you pay what you like by donation, we’ll go soft on your wallet but heavy on your feet 😉

this Friday our good female friends from Nantes-annex-Bruxelles are organising their first Tropical Boobs party @ le Metro Valdi -yes, they named it that in female self-sexist power stylee- a night filled with global bass sounds, juke, trap, dubstep, italo disco and whatnot @ Metro Valdi (15 Rue des Poissonniers) Bxl city centre near Beurs/Bourse.

Rebel Up! dj’s Sebcat & Leblanc will be spinning a heavy selection of global tunes. Leblanc will go deep into Africa with fast urban kuduro, kwaito house and some streetwise Mexican sonidero cumbia, while Sebcat will turn to Caribbean ways with the newest and roughest Karnival sounds from Haiti, Brazilian tecnomelody swing and some tecnofolk tunes from Syria & Egypt.

Joined by guest dj’s from Nantes DJ FI$H€RPRIC€ & $TRAPONTIN and Brussels immigrants RICO MEDEIROS (DRACHE MUSICAL/BXL) and VJ FLANDERS. Gonna be a hot night!

while all other parties in the city cash in & overcharge people and put you into crammed hot rooms, it’s FREE IN at our party and with kindly priced artisanal Brussels beers (Brasserie de la Senne), yummy ice cream and even fresh waffles!

and all this on the fine warm sounds of soukous rumba, tropical cumbia, indian pop tunes, caribbean carnival, 80’s no wave, indierock, classic chanson, and much much more unexpected party sounds played by DJ’s Brian Hainaut, Jean Mikili, Bongoman, Cool Broccoli, Ji Efuola’m and Sebcat.
