This saturday, concert + afterparty at La Tricoterie > Le Grand Bal Salé Portugal!

Rebel Up! SebCat will be playing at the afterparty with many dj friends, gonna be some good global dance tunes with a view on Portugal and Lusophone Africa.

Afro World Mestizo Explosion from Lisbon!
Transformation, creation & influences from the Portuguese colonies with a huge variety of rhythms, sounds from black Africa, a fusion of reggae and a wide range of instruments from various parts of the world. Started in 1999 in Lisbon. The ‘cidade do fado’ is being more and more open and multicultural, and no one better represents that cultural diversity than Terrakota, influenced by the rising cultural diversity brought by the immigrant populations and musicians from the ancient Portuguese colonies. Nominated a world music best bands by Songlines magazine in 2011. Not to be missed. We advice to buy your ticket in advance.

nightshop afrohouse Hello folks! this friday an awesome Nightshop Afrohouse party that we helped setting up with our friend Ivan Diaz (Weagogo agency).

with special guests DJ Satelite from Luanda, Angola, and afrohouse master Boddhi Satva from Central African Republic, who is replacing Congolese DJ Spilulu who sadly did not get his visa from the European authorities.

DJ Satelite is the one of the original masters of the kuduro beat and has gotten deep into afrohouse over the last few years when the style started booming in Angola. He will serve frenetic futurist beats and make you go wild. see this interview or check this playlist. Boddhi Satva, originator of the international afrohouse scene and plays a style that he likes to call ‘Ancestral Soul’, expect to go into deep house territory with a real African pulse from this secret Brussels resident. American Bxl resident Dovecake is a dancer & urban bass dj all the same, opening us with a wild set of afrobass! to close off the night, Rebel Up! dj’s Sebcat & LeBlanc will clash with Max le Daron of Lowup. A heavy African mix of Angolan afrohouse & kuduro, Ghanaian afrobeats, South African kwaito and afrobass from the Lusophone diaspora. Just 5€ in, come early enough as we expect a full house! with special guest Baro Drom Orkestar from Firenze, Italy
An explosive and exciting group that combines klezmer, Armenian, Balkan music and pizzica & tarantella from the Salento in the so-called “Power Gypsy Dance”. An unconventional ensemble: electric violin, accordion, electric double-bass and modified drums. Italian temperament, passion and hot rhythm…World music with a rock attitude. see their video here >

also warm up liveset & afterparty set by Alizarina. This nomadic clarinet player fuses eastern European folklore into a modern electronic sound with a good beat. Video here >
