23-25 June > Rebel Up! in Bulgaria @ Zenith Fusion festival (Dolen)

Zenith is new a boutique micro festival (1st edition!) that showcases an anthology of Bulgaria’s beauty. Zenith simply makes use of what is already locally present: nature, heritage, culture. The festival supports initiatives that successfully create contemporary relevant ways for tradition to survive and regenerate. During the day businesses, craftsmen and organizations show their take on it through workshops and lectures. During the night local acts, modern ethno bands and world music DJ’s fuse styles, times and continents. The amphitheatrical stage becomes a window to the world. All participants are active on the crossroad of LOCAL and GLOBAL, PAST and FUTURE.

Zenith Fusion festival takes place on 24, 25 and 26 June, thereby kicking off the festival season. The first day, 24.06, is known as the folkloric Midsummer (”Enyovden”) marked by the Summer Solstice and is one of the country’s most vivid and joyful folklore traditions. Only 300 tickets available!

Find us at the Unesco heritage mountain village of Dolen, an architectural reserve, hosting a beautiful historic center, fun grandmothers, breathtaking panorama’s and of course… a staggeringly beautiful amphitheater.

Rebel Up! SebCat & Duckfood will play friday night 24 june, during the summer solstice.

MC C-Imperatriz
Légende secrète de la scène tropicale parisienne grâce au pseudonyme le plus absurde de la capitale, MC C-Imperatriz est en permanence connecté aux Caraïbes, à l’Amérique du Sud et l’ Afrique à la recherche des sons les plus voyous du moment. A Paris, il a commis ses forfaits dans divers clubs et bars de la capitale : le Panic Room, le Pop-Up du Label, Udo Bar, Les Disquaires. Son mot d’ordre pour la soirée ? Dale duro!

Celeste Mariposa (PT / Lisboa)
The duo Francisco Sousa & Wilson Vilares started out as techno dj’s but the powerful music of the African ex-Portuguese colonies lured them in and they became true connoisseurs of the Luso-African music diaspora from Angola & Cabo Verde and further. Last year they started a label under the same name, releasing talented Luso-African artists living in Lisboa such as Chalo Correia (last year in Recyclart!). Expect wild funana, funky coladeira, shaking semba and much much more! See live video here, and their recent Boilerroom session!

Puto Marcio (PT / Lisboa)
Only 22 years old, Puto Marcio aka Marcio Mendes is a young and talented producer / dj of the Lisbon suburb of Loures (home to DJ Marfox too), originator of the Tia Maria Producoes collective and part of the Principe label scene which includes his friends Marfox, Nigga Fox and Nidia Minaj to name a few. His special urban blend of afrotech and afrobeats comes drenched in Angolan tarraxo, kuduro and batida influences, perfect for a heavy percussive dancefloor vibe. This is his first ever appearance in Belgium! Enjoy a mixtape of him here, or check out the Tia Maria Producoes release on Principe.

Manucho (PT)
No party without an ex-pat Portuguese outside of the homeland. Manucho is part of the afrolatino band Radio Palenke based in Paris, but also a dj who digs deep into the Afro-Portuguese Lisboa & Porto scene for the freshest beats and bass sounds. Get ready for a trip into the Portuguese underground!

Rebel Up! SebCat (Bxl)
The only non-Portuguese DJ on the bill as local support to our special guests. Part of the Brussels global crew Rebel Up!, which needs no introduction. Expect some hot warming up in Luso African spheres, from vintage sounds to modern beats.

Only 5€ in, places are limited, so come early enough! 🙂

Starting at the awesome Kako Da Ne –Tropical Bass Explosion- party in the ACU squat bar, together with all our buddies Rafael Aragon (special guest) & Kako Da Ne dj’s Ayabassca, Dubcovsky and LiveWire
