Groovalizacion Radio is a collective of DJs, journalists and cultural activists from all over the world whose podcasts highlight the latest worldwide trends of global urban music and explore their local roots. Created in 2008 to promote cultural encounters and experimentation.

▲▽  Global Funk Soundsystem (radio gaztea): DJ Makala, based in San Sebastián (Basque Country), spans more than two decades as Club and Radio DJ, embracing an ever increasing range of musical styles: from Afrobeat to funk, soul to reggae, ska to hip hop, boogaloo to dub, rocksteady to jazz – all mixed, cut and ready to be enjoyed. Since 2008 he organizes the monthly Global Funk Parties and he presents the weekly Boom Shaka Laka radio show on Radio Gaztea since 2005. In Brussels he’ll bring Denis Barzaga with him, Cuban percussionist from Guantanamo to serve mix of hot Caribbean and tropical sounds, from classic to modern, genre-crossing, with his Global Funk Soundsystem.

DJ Mukambo was the driving force behind the popular Groovalicious parties and now has launched this new party Groove Kilombo as a continuation of Festa Mukambo.

Starting at 20h @ Bibliotheek Sans Souci, who are celebrating their 10 year anniversary, a party in the library between the books.
Rebel Up SebCat will spin all global sounds in a roundtrip from 20h til midnight.

Time is Up to put on your shiniest shoes and prepare to move your legs in all kinds of directions,
On Saturday, the 4th of May Rebel Up! is back in Café De Vingerin The Hague to honor the return of the Sun (and the King, why not?) and deliver as usual our fittest sound from the global underground.
The deal is simple as usual, we ask you just a bit of money to help for one last time our friends from the Kenyan ONG Watoto Wa Baraka (more info available on  www.africanorphanage.org) and in exchange we guaranty to keep you dancing, smiling, mingling with fun people and just have a good time, like in a good friends party. It will groove for sure with Up and Down tempo from Africa, mashing guitars from Sahara, Brass bands from around the Mediterranean coasts and many rhythms from Brazil, Argentina y Columbia and the Caribbean. We’ll go crescendo to let you go in trance into heavy bass lines towards the end of our show.
