We didn’t want to end 2018 without seeing your smiles & crazy steps on the dancefloor once more!

With this special Xmas afro edition, Giraffes & Penguins would like to support the super nice project Jouwaii Traditional African Games Festival, that aims at gathering people of different Brussels communities around traditional African games. Therefore we’ll move to the African heart of Brussels for a day & night of African games and music!

PROGRAMME:
15h – 20h (FREE IN) >> Introduction to traditional African games + masks & games diy workshops with the Jouwaii Traditional African Games Festival crew, for young & old alike. More details here.

From 22h – 5am (5€ – cash only) >> Giraffes & Penguins African party in the main room with Rafael Aragon, Rebel Up SebCat, Le Grand Méchant Loop & Maria Ilia (video mapping) + acoustic reggae concert by Touko Sari + Jouwaii Traditional African Games Festival in the bar until 2am.

On tuesday 11.12 at Acienne Belgique > concert of Les Filles de Illighadad (NG) and Delgres (FR). with support by the Rebel Up Nightshop dj’s.

duo concert of amazing deep female tuareg blues and a Caribbean powerrock trio!

This evening has now become a real global blues-rock event, a double-bill with as opener Les Filles de Illighadad. They have been popular in AB since a previous edition of BRDCST. At the time, we read: ‘Fresh Tuareg  energy between trance an tradition’ (Gonzo Circus).

Delgres is a super agile and impelling blues-trio from Guadeloupe in the Caribbean. Expect Dobro guitar, plus drums and a sousaphone!

Sunday 9 december > Rebel Up Records & distro @ Brussels Loop Sessions, C12, Bxl

This sunday, Loop Sessions #5 in C12, Brussels

THE CONCEPT:
Loop Sessions assembles Beatmakers under one roof for a gathering of music production and networking. Using the equipment of their choice while sampling from the same vinyl, participants have a few hours to put their creation together. Beatmakers are invited to arrive one hour before the opening of the event in order to get set and ready.

First to arrive picks the record from the supplied crate. Once time is up, we fire up the loudspeakers and you get to share your track with your peers. Hosted by Turtle Master and friends for the Brussels edition and inspired by Dr. MaD and Lou Piensa (The Loop Pilots).

There will also be a vinyl market.
Rebel Up Records and distro will be present come find us there.

Our monthly Rebel Up & Friends session at Kiosk Radio is coming up!

from 16 to 18h, we will have our livestream session with special guest Yves Taquet of Goulash Disko festival, a Belgian organiser/DJ who lives in Zagreb, Croatia for many years now. Expect lots of global sounds & bass.

On friday 7 december Yves Taquet will play at the Secret Fete Païenne in l’uZinne by our friends of Global Hybrid collective.
