wed. 26 oct > Rebel Up! dj’s @ KK World *Brasil* night w/ DJ Tudo & Chico Correa, Bxl

hello all,

this wednesday in Brussels, as part of Europalia Brasil, there is a special KK World *Brasil* night at Kultuurkaffee on the VUB university campus with our Brazilian friends DJ Tudo & Chico Correa.

Both have already played at our Amsterdam night last year and they’re really worth seeing, hearing and dancing to. As Rebel Up! dj’s we’re happy to be supporting them during the night with all sounds Brazilian and beyond.

Chico Correa & his Pocket Band (Paraiba)
Chico Correa’s one man band project brings the Afrobrazilian styles of samba and carimbó together in a swinging electronic live setting, aided by guitar and effects. Experimental tropicalia body music, let’s dance!

dj Tudo (Sao Paulo)
Alfredo Bello aka Tudo plays is a man of many bands and projects. He runs his own Mundo Melhor label on which he releases traditional and ritual Brazilian folk music, recorded by himself in local Afro communities. Expect a colourful flavoured mix of his acoustic recordings and more!

Namaste,

the Kawa brothers

tonight the Rajasthani Kawa Brothers will be playing at Compilotheque!
The Kawa family hail from Jaipur -the pink royal city- where they have been raised with the legacy of traditional Rajasthani folk music and Indian classical compositions on the sarangi, santoor and tabla. Should be a special concert in true desertlike spheres of Rajasthan.  See a video here.

Before and after, Rebel Up! Seb will play his Rajasthani recordings that he recorded on the streets and in people`s homes during a 6 month Indian music trip in 2007-2008. After the summer, a compilation of these Rajasthani recordings will be released on American cult label Sublime Frequencies by the title *Rajasthani Street Music*
