Fri 17 Nov > 2x Rebel Up action in Brussels at Festival Rumba Town #2 (Au Quai) + Tiger in a Tropical Storm (Barlok)

Double Rebel Up action this friday in Au Quai and Barlok > Molenbeek canal side is the hottest multicultural place in Brussels right now 🙂

2nd edition of the Festival Rumba Town, with 3 bands & several dj’s. Noche de mucho gusto.

Programme + lineup >

Canela ‘n Drama (ES/CT, Barcelona)
Spanish Catalan duo Canela N’Drama takes you on a journey through a magical and varied latino landscape. Ever since they met in the streets of Barcelona, they entertain many audiences with passionate bossa music that dances to the sweetness of Yolanda’s voice. Carried by Alexis’ passionate guitar playing

Arumbo (ES/BE)
Brussels and Barcelona are bursting with music. For this band the perfect base to grow their fusion between rumba and worldgroove into something beautiful, something danceable and at the same time something fragile. Text and music straight from the heart and irresistible for your limbs. What at first sight seems soft and fragile, turns out to be a true popular party. Arumbo serves southern sounds and melodies where nobody can stand still.

Shaman Festival (BE)
It brings more than just music. It is a belief, a lifestyle in which freedom, celebration and mysticism are central. They themselves describe their music as kermispunk or turbofestiv, even though this is actually in short supply. Their mix of ska, reggae, cumbia, gipsy beats, Eastern rhythms, South-American, mariachi music and polka-punk, supplemented by a number of graceful belly dancers, leaves nobody unmoved. All compositions are performed by a horn section, cajon and percussion, Rumba guitars, electric guitar riffs and a lot of positive energy. Shaman Festival was founded in 2006 and has played more than 150 performances ever since. Shaman festival will present their latest EP “Open” at Rumba Town.

and for those more into electropical sounds, or as a perfect afterparty to Rumba Town, there is the Tiger In A Tropical Storm party in Barlok, running til 7am

Organised by the party feminist crew of Tropical Boobs, who have been doing the better wild electro & global beats parties in Bxl since 5 years now.

Embrace the tiger’s lips with blood and blow on the musical strings. What is the song of the tribal drums for this mythological night? Come as children of your games and your laughs of ivory mix hearts and souls to the crazy rhythms of the bass. Singers and musicians with a sweaty charisma perform on an attractive altar and promise a meteoric rise in temperature. Free spirits and possessed bodies, come and enjoy this tropical storm.
