This Friday 18 september, Brussels based band Re#encounter present their debut album “Angels & Demons At Play” at the alternative Recyclart venue.
The band consists of members from Morocco, Burkina Faso, Spain, Portugal and Brussels. Spiritual gnawa music with big band jazz vibes and some trance rock.

On Saturday 14 June, we organise together with the amazing crew of Bongo Joe a global afterparty, to celebrate the 10 years of their label. On Friday + Saturday evening they host a Bongo Joe concert programme at the Ancienne Belgique club room (with The Space Lady, Lalalar, Cyril Cyril and more!)
Our afterparty follows after the AB on Satutday night at the mysterious Chez Jacques Music Club, a little know cave club on the canal side of Molenbeek.
A great global clubbing & bass lineup with Tunisian-Swiss producer Pekodjinn, Brussels Moroccon producer Cheb Runner, the Bongo Joe dj crew (1000balles & Injuste) and the Rebel Up crew (SebCat, Drache MuMu & Moon Yé).

and our 2nd event is Wednesday 18 June, at Brasserie Illegaal. a Sahel musical evening organised by Rebel Up, 11 11 11 comité, Curieus and Bolingo Art.
With 2 concerts of special and deep moving music from the Sahel region by Kaito Winse (Burkina Faso / Brussels) and the desert blues/rock band TisDass from Niger.
Both artists are part of our Rebel Up label and they will have vinyls, cd’s and merchandise for sale during the evening. TisDass new album Houmaïssa will be released that same week as a limited edition vinyl on our Rebel Up label in collaboration with Bolingo Art.

Hey all,
In the aftermath of the devastating earthquakes in the High Atlas region of Morocco, we will run a fundraiser relief action at Rebel Up for the next 2 weeks.
All digital purchases of below mentioned releases will be donated to the NGO Karama Solidarity, who are based here in Molenbeek around the block from where we are based. Karama means ‘dignity’ in arabic. The NGO is run by Brussels Moroccan citizens and volunteers and is active in Morocco and in the regions that have been hit the hardest.
Donations will be used to help victims in Morocco meet the most urgent needs immediately detected on the ground by Karama’s teams. Currently, the victims need medical care, food but also resettlement. Hundreds of thousands of Moroccans of all ages no longer have a roof over their heads and have lost all or part of their families. Karama prefers purchases made locally, which require less logistics than imports and are less expensive and which also help the local economy.

Cheb Runner – Tagnawit, the electronic gnawa EP by Moroccan producer Cheb Runner from Agadir with the Brussels gnawa maalem masters Driss Filali and Hicham Bilali. Last week, we found 10 last vinyl copies of Tagnawit tucked away in our stock. Better be quick to order as these are really the last vinyls! Also we lowered the price for the digital EP to 3€, but paying more is very much appreciated for this fundraiser action.

The Marockin Brass project by Luc Mishalle, with Moroccan, Benin and Brussels musician focusing on gnawa and jazz. We lowered the price of the digital album to 4€, paying more is again very much appreciated. Also we lowered the prices for the vinyl to 8€ and the CD for 6€.

On Friday we organise our 1st big Giraffes & Penguins party again since +2 years in the VK Vaartkapoen venue in Molenbeek. An Arab Bass night with artists from the Maghreb, Syria and Brussels.
We have a great lineup for you, with live sets by 2 special guests Rizan Said (keyboard player & composer of Omar Souleyman / Syria) and the percussive electronics by NURI (Tunisia / Shouka label). Also dj sets by local spinners Hiskhek Bishek, Tropical DJipsies, Rebel Up SebCat and Le Grand Mechant Loop as well as visuals by VJ Jan Vorst.
It will be a wild night and deep dive into the large pool of electronic arabic worldwide sounds.
