Afterwards in Beursschouwburg, a special Gqom Oh! label night with South Africa’s newest ghetto house wave from Durban. This South African club music is a sultry mix of hip-hop, footwork and kwaito house with a heavy Xhosa identity.
First real Gqom night in Brussels!
Gqom Oh! is a new label set up by Italian dj and researcher Nan Kole to display the fresh sounds coming out of Durban, by talented and often very young producers from the townships. Griffit Vigo is one of the main figures of the scene, still young but veteran producer is already the inspiration and godfather for many.
with:
Griffit Vigo (SA) (dj set)
Nan Kolè (IT)
+ Dr Kwest AKA 808 Bantou (Bxl) (live set)
+ Rebel Up dj’s (Bxl)
Check the Gqom Oh! label output and dive into their sounds.
Listen here to a live Gqom mix on Radio Panik on Quest for the Beat show.
