This weekend on sunday 14 oct, we’re blowing some new life into our Rajasthan Live Cinema project at the TUSK festival in Newcastle amongst a great avant gardist & folky lineup. Rajastani visuals and music meet in a deep road trip vibe.  Our set is scheduled at 18:00

Summer season ends with the 4th market and a big bang of an after party! As usual they offer vinyl, used and new, as well as equipment, instruments and arts. After dark we celebrate a great summer with all you waxheads, helpers, DJs, artists, regulars, irregulars, visitors, guests, and supporters.

Afrofuturistic dance sensation! Singer Tatiana Heintz was born in Cote d’Ivore and has been a musical nomad ever since. She is singing in English, French and Bété, backed by multi instrumentalist Gilbert Trefzger on slide guitar and bass pedal. Third man is Ghost Nebula alias Konaté Thiemöko Alain-Stéphane on electronics.

SAADI
Born in Syria and raised in the US, Boshra AlSaadi is a typical product of the multicultural music scene of New York. She sang and played bass in bands such as Looker and Teen, as well as a part of the Bubu Gang of the late Janka Nabay, where she also served as musical director. As a solo artists she has released two 45s and will pick up that thread for an exclusive Berlin performance.

Taha feat. Amer Wakka
Taha, a Syrian MC and producer, amalgamates postmodern prose, contemporary poetry, Arabic rap, and classical poetry. Taha’s music and texts draw on memory, emanating from displacement, exile, nostalgia, and the politics of home and identity.
Special guest Amer Wakka is a hip hop artist originally from Damascus, who has been gaining recognition in the Arab world after performing in Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan and his native Syria. Since his escape in 2015 Amer lives in Germany, but remains true to his mother tongue – Rap Arabi fi Almania – Arab rap in Germany. His first EP “CHAUA” was released earlier this year with “Bezirk Zwo”.

His mixes are a wild ride across all borders and fences..

Shalaby (Okou)
Musical Nomad with swiss / egyptian roots and a deep knowledge of all things with strings. He plays electric and acoustic oud, as well as guitars, banjo and pedal bass in various projects including Mando & Gilbert and Okou (see above). Freak S.E. (FreakOuternational)
The DJ with rots in Dub & Drum’n’Bass is hosting the FreakOuternational Radio Show on multicult.fm and the monthly FreakOuternational Vinyl Night at Monarch. He is co-founder of undestructible dub lab X.A.CUTE, plays drums in power duo Atomvulkan Britz and various instruments in the latest incarnation of the Mystical Communication Service.

this thursday 20th, there will be another live session of Rebel Up & Friends @ Kiosk Radio from 16-18h, with special guest Andres R (Venezuela) and a set of latin bass. Expect eclectic vinyl sounds from the Rebel Up side. Come join us on the park terrace for an apero drink or follow the set on the livestream via Kiosk Radio site or Rebel Up FB.


Friday 21st, Rebel Up SebCat will play in the courtyard of the new Recyclart in Molenbeek, together with DJ Charlotte PéPé. The courtyard sessions are the moment to get to know the new Recyclart venue in the Rue De Manchester, as a sort of get together apero session. Be sure that we will take you for a ride of global & eclectic sounds!

11 + 12 sept > Rebel Up @ Goulash Disko festival, Vis island, Croatia

Hello all!
back from magical, dusty & spiritual Morocco, and going to Croatia!
Coming week Rebel Up SebCat will be in Croatia for the alternative crowdfunded Goulash Disko festival in the picturesque coastal town of Komiza on Vis island, which runs from 11 to 16 september. see FB event for the full lineup.

On tuesday night 11 september, SebCat will play in the Academia Ghetto Club in Split during the Goulash Disko week. all info here.

Next day on wednesday 12 september, SebCat will travel to the island of Vis to respresent Rebel Up at Goulash Disko festivsal. He will play the main stage at 19h30, after Indian musician Shama Rahman and before Mexican mestizo band Los Kamer. Expect Indian traditional & psychedelic tunes via Africa and Latin America. Also our friends Ko Shin Moon, Rafael Aragon, Cigarra, Birdzzie, Mambo Chick, Barrio Lindo, Tropical Twista, Ion Din Anina, Miret, Fourmi Rouz, Vedat Akdag, Taka Tuka, Kognitif and Haris Pilton will be playing during all the days.

weekend 30/08 – 02/09 > Rebel Up @ Atlas Electronica, Marrakesh (MA)

yes habibi, Rebel Up in Maroc!
We will be playing at the Atlas Electronic festival near Marrakesh.

This is the 3rd edition of the Atlas Electronica festival, talking place in the Villa Janna Ecolodge, as an eco friendly and low impact festival.

We will spin several dj sets on thursday 30 august, a full set at the start of the evening and inbetween several Moroccan live bands such as Amazigh Blues, Generation Taragalte, Asmaa Hamzaoui & Bnat Timbouktou, Kareem Lofty and Ninos du Brasil.

Also we will play an ethnic ambient listening set on the saturday or sunday afternoon, maybe even with some local traditional Moroccan musicians.

For those wanting to come last minute > there are still cheap enough return flights for 150€ to Marrakech from Netherlands (Amsterdam/Eindhoven). From Belgium it is more pricey.
