Saturday 21 july > Rebel Up @ 2x festival in Netherlands! > Welcome to the Village Festival (Leeuwarden) & De Leuke Festival (Utrecht)

This saturday 21 july, Rebel Up SebCat and Duckfood will split their musical forces to divide themselves over 2 festivals.

Rebel Up SebCat will spin at Welcome To The Village festival in the far north of Friesland near Leeuwarden, together with DJ Francesco, closing off the Blessum stage from 1 to 3 am. Be ready for some hot global sounds!

During the day, great bands & performers such as Mark Lanegan, Kuenta i Tambu, Romperayo, Kanipchen Fit and Yuri Landman will play.

and the same day, Rebel Up Duckfood will go to the northern outskirts of Utrecht for De Leuke festival in de Voorveldse Polder. 

You can catch him at the Yallah Yallah stage, run by our buddy DJ Tommi and also with Ramses 3000 of Caïro Liberation Front and Pushin Wood playing at another stage. Be prepared for some heavy arabic sounds, from dakbe to chobi and electro chaabi!

Fri/Sat 18 & 19 Aug, Rebel Up NL weekender > Amsterdam @ De Ruimte + Leeuwarden @ Psy-Fi Festival

Hello NL!

This friday & saturday we’ll play a free gig in Amsterdam and at the psychedelic Psy-Fi in the Friesland nature near Leeuwarden.

Friday @ alternative venue De Ruimte in Amsterdam-Noord. During the summer they have their terrace open with live acts and DJ’s.

With Rebel Up we’ll host friday evening with global tunes and hopefully also a live act! Free in! from 20h til midnight.

Then next day, saturday, we’ll go up north to Friesland province, for the Psy-Fi festival in a natural park area of De Groene Ster with lakes and such, nature bliss!

Psy-Fi calls itself a psychedelic festival, so not a typical Goa trance festival as there is much more on offer. From yoga, tantric & body awareness and artistic area’s to several music stages of which also a world music stage called the Global Theatre with live acts & DJ’s and the place where we will play a dance set 🙂
Also our Brussels friends of live act Memo Pimiento will join us, wepa! For sure it will be a psychedelic, colourful experience, fingers crossed for sun!

Rebel Up! SebCat will be busy 2 days touring Netherlands festivals with the Congolese Brussels band Yan Koy & Color Rumba and also dj-ing on the side. Fun fun fun!

On friday 18 july the fun starts in Nijmegen at the Valkhof festival, when at 21:00h Yan Koy & Color Rumba will play their heavy rumba & soukous sound at De Boog stage. At 22:30 Rebel Up! Sebcat will be playing all kinda vintage, modern & electronic global tunes at De Tuin area untill 1am as closing set of the festival in the park.  The festival is FREE, so just come along!
If you have seen Color Rumba in action at our night in Amsterdam last year or in Rotterdam, you know how wild it can get 🙂

Then Saturday followed by the amazing Welcome To The Village festival in Leeuwarden at Groene Ster nature area, where Color Rumba will warmly shake up all those northern Frysian folks in the afternoon (15:30) at the Blessum stage. SebCat will warm up the crowd with some classic rumba & soukous selections before & after their set. Also good bands like Combinatie XVI and our Ghanaian buddy King Ayisoba and friends of Orchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamps will be playing there, as well as DJ’s Zea + TP OK!
