After last week’s amazing night with Konono No1, a fresh Soundclash night coming up @ OCCII again! It will be a special eastern/arabic theme night with mystical Sufi/Qawwali music from India, revolution electro Shabi sounds, dabke from the middle east and much much more!!!!

Ali Kawa Brothers & Qawwali Party (IN)
trancedental Sufi & Qawwali music by muscians from Rajasthan, near to the border with Pakistan. Their special sound is filled with mystical spheres and islamic healing power that takes your mind and body to a distant place. Expect some deep resonating vocals, strong tabla rhythms and hypnotic vibes. They will play around midnight, so don’t come late!

Caïro Liberation Front
something is brewing in the rougher neighbourhoods of Caïro; young producers are making new electronic music called electro shabi (or sha3i), a rough sound that combines dancehall influences with Egyptian techno folk with a heavy political undercurrent. CLF has collected the best dance tunes of all these new producers, so this calls for a revolution party, YALLA!

We are also joined by our buddy Process Rebel (US) who will play his dancehall selections with an eastern-arabic vibe.

As always, the Rebel Up! dj’s will fill the gaps with their own blend of global sounds, in this case only pure asian n arabic sounds from vintage and modern times.
