7-8 July > Rebel Up @ Borgofuturo Social Camp, Ripe San Ginesio (IT)

Upcoming weekend, Rebel Up SebCat will be in Italy at the Borgofuturo Social Camp event in the village of Ripe San Ginesio (Macerata region).

The Borgofuturo Social Camp is a whole weekend of activism, ranging from social workshops to permaculture and architecture and much more.

The 2018 themes are the decolonization of the imaginary, the circular economy and the communities in transition. The paths will be interwoven through discussion tables and laboratories and will propose a critical and radical analysis of human and productive relationships. Deconstruct your conditioning and rebuild the foundations of a different future!

We will keep the sharing practices at the center, we will host yoga and meditation sessions and this year a stop-motion animation workshop for the youngest. Among the novelties, a design workshop of urban reuse, in which forgotten or unpublished waste materials will compose temporary or permanent installations for the village of Ripe. The workshop on the traditional voices and dances of the Apennines will prepare us for the final party on Sunday.

Every night there will be an afterparty with bands & DJ’s. On saturday 7 july, it will be Rebel Up SebCat and Brussels afro-jazz band Azmari who will heat up the night 🙂

Rebel Up! & SOTU festival present: Les Filles de Illighadad

SOTU (Sounds of the Underground) is an annual alternative music festival in Amsterdam. SOTU has a passion for genre bending sound and performances – you can listen to noise, punk, folk, improv, rave, avant-garde and electronics.

DJ warmup  21:00 – 22:30
LES FILLES DE ILLIGHADAD (NE, Sahel Sounds) 22:30 – 23:30
 DJ afterparty 23:30 – 01:00

Les Filles d’Illighadad
Fatou Seidi Ghali, Alamnou Akrouni and Mariama Salah Aswan come from the region of Illighadad, in the heartland of the Niger bush. Rarely have we heard sounds that resonate with as much emotion as those of Les Filles d’Illighadad. Fatou Seidi Ghali directs the band on guitar and vocals with her measured and calm play. In a world dominated by the masculine gender, she is one of the only female guitarists of Tuareg music. Together with her cousins Alamnou and Mariame on vocals, they go right into the essence of the “ishumars” music, mixing it on stage with the tradition of “Tende”, recording their pieces in the large open studio of the desert. Its music is minimalist, poetic and feminine where the trance and ancestral rhythms of the “Tendes” come to support a throbbing and melodious blues. Love, religion, the difficulties of life, the joy of the community, the glorification of nature and the Tuareg culture are themes distilled from the grains of their songs.
