Fri 22 Feb > Rebel Up! Soundclash Agga style @ café de Vinger, Den Haag

Flyer_RU_22_02

Hi Up there,
Rebel Up! is going to soundclash again on Friday 22nd of February at De Vinger in Den Haag.
The idea is as usual  to deliver a musical trip through time and space, to let you wander in all continents with a ricochet on some islands. We intend to provide you with a good time in an open and friendly atmosphere. All that with a slice of consciousness involved with all benefits at the entrance dedicated for a great association called Watoto Wa Baraka. They are actually working hard on developing care centers and orphanages in rural Kenya  (more info available on  www.africanorphanage.org).
As for musical matters, our DJ crew will be made out of 3 identities, ready and willing to clash along for your pleasure. SebCat, Palm M & DuckFood are bringing their music boxes from Rotterdam, Brussels and Den Haag. Our soundscape will mostly cross through African rough club rhythms and intricate roots, up to South American and Caribbean old and new dancefloor scenes. Surprises will come from the Middle East also. Mostly looking for rarities plus unexpected mixes and mashups, for one purpose only, put a smile in your face, close your eyes and let your body go with the flow.
Brave the cold and bring the heat!
See you then soon,
Rebel Up! Crew

sat 1 Dec; Rebel Up! Soundclash @ De Vinger, Den Haag

Hi Up there,

Rebel Up! is back in Den Haag for the second time and eager to bring some musical presents in your ears for a pre-Sinterklaas party this Saturday 1st of December at café De Vinger!

Our 3 DJ’s Dubcovsky, SebCat and Palm M are ready to make you dance in a time and space travel through Old Skool Afro-Carribean genres up to the most delirious mashups and creations from nowadays. You shall jump oceans and centuries and still be up on your feet to witness the pleasure of what a good buddies party means. Expect music from Congo, Senegal, Ethiopia, Kenya, Ghana, South Africa, Argentina, Brazil and if I keep going, you might start to get dizzy. Anyway music speaks louder than words, so come early to enjoy yourself cause last time got packed before midnight with a great crowd who could not leave the dancefloor. And for that, we are thankful as well as for you spreading the good word for a good cause.

Indeed, this time is also special because we will work hand to hand with a local association called Watoto Wa Baraka which means children of blessings in Swahili. They have founded two orphanages in Kenya and are now trying to build a school in a rural area. You could find more info over them and their other projects via www.africanorphanage.org. Just know that the entrance benefits will go to them and that if you’re willing to give more, you are welcome.

See you at the party,
Rebel Up! Crew

Fri 14 Sept; Rebel Up! Soundclash @ café De Vinger, Den Haag

hey folks,

After 5 years of existence, Rebel Up! has decided to invade downtown Den Haag. this friday we will have our first Rebel Up! Soundclash night in Agga @ café De Vinger. your Rebel Up! dj´s Palm M & Sebcat will be joined by Dubcovsky (Kako Da Ne/Casa Babilon). The city will rise this time to the global sound and fury of 3 stubborn DJs :

Sebcat (Be/NL) – The man has travelled and brought back loads of music from the outside world. He’ll introduce tribal and transcendental, Hi and Lo-fi tunes to your body n ears. anything goes from slow Greek Rebetika to swinging Nu Cumbia, vintage Ghanaian records, electro folk from the Sahel, Hausa autotune pop and unreleased Shangaan electro and much much more hotness….

Dubcovski (NL) – The guy has already worked its magic around the Netherlands but its main outpost is Utrecht where he and his kinds conflagrate various venues with their Neo Folk, Abstract Balkan waves. If you haven’t sweat all your fluids on the dancefloor yet. Be prepared to shake it madly with him. The trumpet flow never stops just like in Kusturica’s.

Palm M (Fr/NL) A French dude with a flair for good refreshing songs like Haïtian biguine, Surinamese hits, a slice of Brazilian new scene and some hidden tracks to clash as hell with his friends on stage.
