special guests ❂❁❂ PÅL/SECAM (NL/FR) ❂❁❂
Pål/Secam is an Amsterdam based Dutch/French-British DJ duo, who spread the intercontinental PAN-AMAFROPEANS sound on the local dance floors. Pål/Secam both get bored rather quickly playing just one style of music. This means their sets are infused by the elements of surprise and excitement, in terms of mixing in another genre. Or the same genre, but from another continent. Congolese rumba, oldschool electro, deep dancehall, Cape Verdean Funaná, Surinami Kawina or Kenyan Benga music.. There is no end. This is the PAN-AMAFROPEAN sound, as they like to call it. The two joined forces in 2011 after dj-ing solo for several years. Sharing their interest in music they heard being played on Radio Nova and by dj’s like Theo Parrish, Pål/Secam developed their own style. With a mission to break musical boundaries by creating a diverse colourful pattern that tickles ears and feet. Pål/Secam combine delicate pre-selection with suspenseful improvisation on the spot. Which makes their vinyl and digital mixing raw, sensitive, startling and overall quite unique.

special international guest ❂❁❂ Ckrono (IT) ❂❁❂
is Italian-Japanese DJ & Producer Gianluca Daiichiro from Florence, but based in Milan. He is considered one of the pioneers of the international tropical bass sound which he loves to infuse with ethnic influences. Ckrono’s DJ sets are journeys through Afro-Latin-Brazilian grooves mixed with powerful sub basses coming from Italian Fidget, Uk Funky and American’s trap music. All of this can be attributed to the experience gained by spinning alongside heavyweight DJ’s like Fatboy Slim, Crookers, Clap Clap, Branko and DJ Marfox — including gigs all over the globe in Europe, USA, Mexico and Japan. His 1st time in Brussels, be sure he will put the Bonnefooi on fire with heavy bass!

Thu 23 Nov: Turkish Pyschedelic Groove night with Derya Yildirim & Grup Şimşek concert, afterparty with Rebel Up, Radio Martiko & Front Chaud

A very special night of Bonnefooi Invites, in collaboration with Rebel Up, with some very special guests
Derya Yildirim & Grup Şimşek (TR/DE/FR/IT/GB)

Young singer/multi-instrumentist Derya Yıldırım teams up with fantastic drummer Greta Eacott (G-Bop Orchestra / One-Take records) and 3 quarters of Catapulte Records’ Orchestre du Montplaisant (Antonin Voyant, Graham Mushnik, Andrea Piro). With members originating from Turkey, Germany, France, Italy and Great Britain, Grup Şimşek (pronounce « Shimshek ») encapsulates the Outernational generation.

Upon hearing Turkey’s Derya Yildirim, it only takes a few seconds until your soul willingly allows itself to be bowled over. This singer/multi-instrumentalist namely possesses a unique voice that exudes both melancholy and longing. Musically, she is accompanied by Grup Şimşek that excels with its hypnotic Anatolian psych-pop. Turkish folk, grooves and psychedelica. Aside from own compositions, Derya Yildirim also interprets gems by Turkish artists like (protest)singer Selda Bağcan, rock pioneer Barış Manço, Moğollar and the Turkish poet Nazım Hikmet. After their amazing performance at the 10 Years of Rebel Up party in Recyclart last march and more recently at the Feeerieen festival by Ancienne Belgique in August, be sure to get in on time for a good spot to shake & cry with us.

Listen to her 4 song EP ‘Nem Kaldi’ , co-released by Les Disques Bongo Joe & Catapulte Records in early 2017, to capture her deeply melancholic voice and the eloquently groovy sounds by Grup Şimşek.
