This Saturday 24.01, Rebel Up SebCat will be spinning a late set at the historical Café Charlatan club in the heart of Gent for the double birthdays of Noémi (Indian Summer festival) and Benn (Mélange Etrange).
Specially for their Birthday Bash, they’re bringing the crème de la crème of the Brussels and Wallonian scene to Ghent: Assaï, His Dudeness, Rafael Aragon, Rebel Up SebCat and Benn himself will provide the musical journey. Expect surprises, warm grooves, and a vibe that lingers.

With 2 concerts, by Brazilian group Satanique Samba Trio to celebrate their new release on 21.03 on the start of their European tour, and a warmup show by Brussels duo Trance Plantations. DJ support by SebCat & Drache MuMu.
Satanique Samba Trio is an instrumental avant-garde quintet (yep, not really a trio), founded in 2003 with the sole purpose to be an idiosyncratic force on the Brazilian musical landscape. No Brazilian traditional rhythm remains unscathed on Satanique Samba Trio’s trail of desecration. From samba to forró, from bossa nova to lambada and carimbó, this Brasília-based quintet (sometimes sextet) has been adding virulence, dissonance and provocation to Brazil’s musical heritage. Their efforts on deconstructing Brazilian music’s most persistent clichés have resulted in 15 records so far. After a (post-)covid hiatus, they finally hit Europe again to promote their upcoming 7-inch vinyl .‘Cursed Brazilian Beats Vol. 1’, to be released on the Brussels label Rebel Up! Records. The 7inch will be available at the show!
And afterwards we do a Rebel Up x ECHT! afterparty @ Bonnefooi bar, as ECHT! also plays their new album release concert in the big room of the Ancienne Belgique. Expect a full lineup with underground electronic & global sounds by SebCat, Papelón Kifesh, Moon Yé and DJ Erd.
Hye all, this wednesday evening at Bonnefooi bar, Rebel Up organises an evening with live concert by Hun Hun.
Brussels duo Hun Hun. Following a trip to Istanbul, the two brothers set about creating mini sound odysseys with new age, ambient and tribal overtones. Hun Hun’s compositions are experimental and timeless, playing on the repetition of ancient melodies and rhythms. Ready to get lost in the maze of the big bazaar ? This weekend the La Nature festival takes place from friday to sunday, an amazing electronic alternative festival in the Ardennes forest with 5 stages and a special lineup of Belgian and international artists and curated by several collectives, including Rebel Up.
On saturday we curate the Dome stage with Rebel Up style with DJ’s & live artists in jazz, global sounds, latino electronic, afrogrooves and hypnotic bass. Amazing stuff & vibes. Our lineup & timetable:

mysterious world jazz with DIY instruments
Brussels-based trio schroothoop (Dutch for ‘junk yard’) is formed by Rik Staelens (wind & string instruments), Timo Vantyghem (bass & clarinet) and Margo Maex (percussion). Their tribal oriented debut mini-album titled ‘Klein Gevaarlijk Afval’ (Small Dangerous Waste) features homemade instruments built from lost and found objects like scrap wood, old metal or anything that would end up in a landfill. The band’s music is infused with sounds from around the world orchestrated by PVC flute melodies, jerry can beats and washtub bass lines.
Mysterious world jazz with Northern African chaabi, South American reggaeton, Eastern oriental melodies and Afro-Cuban rhythms, resulting in a danceable and hypnotic trip through the Brussels melting pot.
Post production and mixed by David ‘Dijf’ Sanders and mastered by Jürgen de Blonde (KOHN).
Artwork by Eva Lynen on screen-printed on cardboard covers in the studio of the Brussels collective Hashët. Limited to 15 handmade vinyl copies only. Tropical DJipsies (Brussels) They united their feminine forces just before the International Women’s Rights Day. This mysterious female quartet has members from various countries and are part of the Brussels global underground attached to local crews like Giraffes & Penguins, Rebel Up and MEDEX.
